SME Credit Platform

Building a Better Route to Commercial Credit

Riverwell brings enterprise-readiness insight, lender discipline, and insurer-backed risk support together — helping viable SMEs access the credit they need to grow.

The Strategy

The Platform

Riverwell is a coordinated financing platform. It does not replace lender credit processes or insurance risk decisions. It gives relevant institutions a practical structure through which they can work together — connecting trusted enterprise insight with lender discipline, separately capitalised reserve capital through ReserveCo, and an insurer-backed credit-guarantee layer.

The outcome we are working toward is straightforward: more viable businesses accessing appropriate commercial credit, without diluting the discipline that makes finance sustainable.

How It Works

A disciplined chain from readiness to credit.

01

Enterprise Readiness

Nominating partners help identify businesses with operating traction and a credible route to commercial debt — bringing trusted enterprise insight into the platform.

02

Institutional Lending

Participating lenders retain their own underwriting, pricing, disbursement, servicing and collections decisions. Accountability stays where it belongs.

03

Insurer-Backed Risk Support

ReserveCo is capitalised to support an agreed insurer arrangement. Any lender-facing guarantee is issued by the selected licensed insurance company through its own risk-acceptance process.

Join the Ecosystem

Two clear routes to participate.

Riverwell welcomes organisations that can identify enterprise potential and institutions that can provide commercial credit. Each role is distinct and accountable.

Nominating Partners

Bring debt-ready enterprise insight.

A nominating partner is a trusted enterprise-support organisation, accelerator, association, corporate ecosystem or data-led platform with credible visibility into SME readiness. Its role is to identify and introduce businesses that may be ready for commercial credit — not to underwrite, approve, guarantee or arrange lending.

Lenders

Provide credit on your own terms.

A lender is a bank, licensed finance institution, debt fund or other institution with the mandate and capacity to lend. Its role is to independently assess and originate eligible facilities, set pricing and terms, and manage disbursement, servicing and collections under its own policies.

Why Riverwell

The platform is designed to make commercial credit more workable for viable businesses while preserving the institutional discipline that makes finance durable.

Clear Institutional Roles

Different responsibilities are held by the relevant platform, lender and insurance institutions. No single party carries the full burden — or the full risk.

Lender Accountability Remains

Lenders remain responsible for independent credit decisions and their own lending operations. Riverwell provides structure, not a shortcut.

Controlled Engagement

Requests are screened and progressed through the appropriate confidential process. We build relationships with the right partners, not the most.

Built for Collaboration

The platform is strongest when enterprise-support organisations, financial institutions and investors work to shared standards and transparent data practices.
